Wimborne cyclist who died in crash is named by police as family pays tribute
A young local woman has been arrested for driving offences following the fatal crash. She has been released on police bail while the investigation continues.
The family of a cyclist who died after a crash with a car in Wimborne have paid tribute to him. James Raeburn, 40, died at the scene of the collision on the B3078 Julians Road on Wednesday, October 4.
Dorset Police were called by paramedics at around 10.11pm to reports of a crash between a car and a bike. Sadly, Mr Raeburn suffered serious injuries that proved fatal and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The car involved was a red Vauxhall Corsa and the driver, a local woman aged in her 20s, was arrested on suspicion of driving offences. She remains released on police bail while enquiries continue.
Mr Raeburn’s family have issued a heartfelt tribute to him. He was described as an “amazing and caring person” who was “the happiest he has ever been”.
