West Ham United: Following the Fabrizio Romano update, the £34 million transfer of Perr Schuurs could spark again
Fabrizio Romano said that clubs that were previously interested in Torino center-back Perr Shuurs could return with deals this summer, which could spark West Ham’s interest in the player once more.
On February 28, Romano revealed on his X account that, even after recovering from a long-term ACL injury, a number of teams are still interested in signing him.
Prior to his injury, Torino supposedly offered Schuurs, who was also a target for Crystal Palace and Liverpool during the summer transfer window, a price tag of £34 million.
West Ham might make a big-money transfer offer to rejoin.
The Hammers may make another attempt to sign Schuurs given their defensive shortcomings this season, even with Konstantinos Mavropanos joining in the summer after Schuurs’s long-term injury derailed any previous bid.
A move for a highly-rated 24-year-old defender would make sense because Kurt Zouma has been unreliable, Nayef Aguerd has been linked to leaving, and Angelo Ogbonna is too old to play any regular minutes.
Schuurs is a self-assured defender who can play with the ball as well off it. His skill with the ball is a crucial component of his game, which will help him at the London Stadium.
Any new players could wind up playing for a different manager given the ongoing uncertainty surrounding David Moyes’s future, and Schuurs would match the spacious style of play that London Stadium supporters have been clamouring for.
There may be a potential transfer agreement in other West Ham news.
