Leif Davis, a left-back for Ipswich Town, is apparently being watched by West Ham United and Newcastle United.

With an astounding 14 assists this season, the 24-year-old has been one of the stars of The Tractor Boys’ surprise Premier League challenge.

Davis, who has always supported Newcastle, played for Wallsend Boys Club before enrolling in Morecambe’s academy and later Leeds United.

“For years, I owned a season ticket at St. James’ Park and have always been an avid fan,” Davis remarked. Ryan Taylor and Fabricio Coloccini were present when I went to see them for the first time. Gabriel Obertan and Yohan Cabaye came next.

“The European nights, when I went up there with my dad and brother, were my favourite games.” Hopefully, there will be an opportunity to see a few Champions League matches this season.

In addition to his two Premier League games against Manchester United and Manchester City, Davis made 14 senior appearances for Leeds, including a loan at AFC Bournemouth.
