Tragedy as 5 people are fighting for their lives after crash in Olney and lanes blocked
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Five people were hospitalized and several lanes were blocked after a crash in Olney, according to the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS).
In a post on X at 3:35 p.m., MCFRS spokesperson Pete Piringer said a collision occurred at Georgia Avenue at Emory Lane.
In an update just after 4 p.m., Piringer said that two vehicles were involved in the crash and that responders were rescuing multiple trapped people.
Piringer also noted that responders had taken five people to the hospital.
As a result of the collision, Georgia Avenue was closed in both directions.
