Trade with Commanders by Steelers Rival Before Cutdown Day

23 AUGUST-KICKER TRADE-Thursday’s transaction by the Cleveland Browns, the rival team of the Pittsburgh Steelers, may not have come as a surprise in the end. And no, Brandon Aiyuk of the San Francisco 49ers was not traded for in this transaction. Instead, they were the team who shipped kicker Cade York to the Washington Commanders in return for a seventh-round conditional pick.

Teams are anticipated to start making roster adjustments, including trades, as they reduce to the 53-man limit as the NFL’s roster cutdown day approaches. Not surprisingly, the Browns moved on from York after inking veteran kicker Dusty Hopkins to a three-year, $15.9 million agreement this offseason.
