Preston crash sees man rushed to hospital as major road closed
A motorcyclist was rushed to hospital after colliding with a van in Preston which shut a major road for hours.
Police and paramedics were called to New Hall Lane at around 6.30am this morning following reports of a collision near to the junction with Blackpool Road. Officers told people to ‘avoid the area’ as they responded to the incident.
The road traffic collision involved a van and a motorcycle and police said the biker suffered ‘suspected leg and chest injuries’. He has been taken to hospital for treatment.
In a post on social media at 6.27am, Preston Police said: “***Road Closure*** Good Morning, we are currently dealing with a road traffic collision on New Hall Lane and as a result Blackpool Road/New Hall Lane towards Preston is closed. Please avoid the area and we will provide an update when we can.”
An update at 8.41am said:Further to our earlier post regarding the road closure on New Hall Lane, we can now update you that the road has reopened. Thank you for your patience.”
