Major Ayrshire road closed after serious crash with rescue team battling to save 2
A MAJOR Ayr road is closed for hours following a three-vehicle crash.
Police Scotland reported the closure of the A77 following the incident at the Bankfield roundabout, near University Hospital Ayr.
Emergency services rushed to the scene of the collision, which took place at around 11.40am.
The road was shut between the Holmston and Bankfield roundabouts, with vehicles diverted via Holmston Road, Castlehill Road and Dalmellington Road in both directions.
