M6 delays as multi-vehicle crash causes motorway closure
Motorists have been warned of large queues on the M6 after a multi-vehicle-crash this afternoon. The collision took place between Junction 13 Dunston and Junction 14 Stafford.
Two out of four lanes were closed due to the incident but all of the carriageway has since reopened today. However there are around 75 minutes of delays and seven miles of congestion after the crash.
The town of Stafford also faces congestion due to diverting track. National Highways West Midlands said on X/Twitter at 3.45pm: “All lanes have now reopened on the M6 southbound between J14 near Stafford and J13 Dunston following the earlier multi vehicle collision
“There are still delays of approximately 75 minutes with 7 miles of congestion remaining, please allow time for these to clear.” It comes after a trailer carrying five bulls overturned earlier today on the northbound carriageway near Junction 13.
The animals underwent assessment from a vet at a nearby farm but appeared to be well and uninjured, a fire service spokesperson said.
