Amidst connections to Chelsea and Liverpool, Carlton Palmer has declared that attacker Crysencio Summerville of Leeds United should leave the team.

According to the analyst, who was speaking with Football League World on March 1, the Blues consider him as the ideal complement to their team.

With 31 league games played this season, the 22-year-old has 15 goals and 8 assists.

Palmer stated: “Chelsea has decided that they want to sign Summerville from Leeds United in the summer.”

“They view him as the ideal complement to the already enormous squad, but Leeds, led by the 22-year-old, are dominating the Championship this year.

Of course, he would want to stay if Leeds were promoted to the Premier League—Chelsea is a major league—but he would also undoubtedly want to stay if he was performing well under Daniel Farke.
Nevertheless, money talks, as we all know, so if Summerville receives an incredible offer, I believe they will be compelled to consider it.

“He appears to want to stay, and it will be a huge financial commitment, but Leeds are in a strong negotiation position because his contract isn’t up until 2026.

Additionally, there isn’t a release clause. A buyout clause was included, but it is no longer in effect. Also showing a lot of interest are Liverpool and Aston Villa. Therefore, that will just drive up the price.

“I estimate that it will cost you between £30 million and £40 million to sell him to Leeds and get him out. Nevertheless, Leeds still needs to put in more effort to advance and return to the Premier League.

“If they don’t, then it’ll be a scramble for his signature. However, even if they do, he’s still going to be a hot commodity, but it’s going to take a lot of money to get him out of Leeds.”

Is Summerville going to leave Leeds United?

Leeds may struggle to keep hold of Summerville, particularly given the financial muscle of interested clubs like Chelsea, owned by Clearlake Capital and with Todd Boehly, an American billionaire, at the helm.

The substantial resources at Chelsea’s disposal, their stature as a top Premier League club and their ability to offer lucrative contracts may be enticing for the player who has been in incredible form.

Leeds’ vulnerable situation—they might have to play in the Championship next season if they don’t get promoted—could also make them less of a negotiating chip.

The Whites might find it difficult to match Chelsea’s cash offers and stature in the absence of the allure of premier league football.

Leeds is attempting to sign Summerville to a long-term contract, but Chelsea and Premier League football might be too alluring.

Even if he won’t be rushing to decide, things might be a little different if the Whites have to play in the second division again.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay provides an update from Elland Road, revealing that a player decided months ago to depart the Whites.
