Did Lionel Messi take a vacation? Inter Miami releases a shocking report about their superstar prior to their MLS encounter with Montreal.

According to assistant coach Javi Morales, Inter Miami may choose to rest star player Lionel Messi for their MLS match on Sunday.

Consequently, what happened?

So far this season, Messi has participated in all four of the Florida club’s competitive MLS and Champions Cup games. Coach Tata Martino may decide to rest him when his squad plays Canadian team Montreal just a few days after their midweek draw with Nashville.

JAVI MORALES’ QUOTES

Assistant manager Morales states, as cited by Jose Armando, that the Miami team has not decided whether or not to include Messi in Sunday’s match. Prior to making a decision, the team plans to speak with the World Cup winner.

This week, Herons head coach Martino expressed concern that the 36-year-old may have sustained “significant wear and tear” as a result of their recent comeback to play. The skipper has scored four goals in as many games since the end of February, when the new season began.

FUTURE PLANS FOR MESSI?

Inter Miami will try to maintain their unblemished start to the season when they play Montreal, having won two and drawn the other of their first three MLS games. If Messi is out for this weekend’s match, he will probably suit up for next week’s second leg of their Champions Cup last-16 match against Nashville.
