Police and firefighters were called to the incident

A crash between a car and a motorbike was causing heavy traffic in Matlock this afternoon.

The crash in Dale Road caused queues stretching from the Premier Inn in Morledge to the Peak District Mining Museum.

Police officers and firefighters were called to the scene, A spokesman for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said firefighters made the scene safe and cleared the vehicles from the road.

A spokeswoman for the service said they were called about being contacted by Derbyshire police. However, she said she was not aware of the seriousness of the crash or if anybody had been injured.

According to Google Maps, the crash was causing slow traffic in the area. By 6pm this had cleared.

The Derby Telegraph has tried to contact Derbyshire police but nobody has been available for comment.
