Christmas bin collection date changes for Nuneaton and Bedworth

Some households in Nuneaton and Bedworth will see their bin collection dates changed during the festive season. The borough council has said that some dates will be changed.

It is in the process of sending out postcards to the householders due to be impacted. But it has also confirmed the rescheduled bin collection day over the Christmas and New Year period online.

Only certain collections will be changed. All others will remain unaffected during this time.

Those impacted are those who have normally have Wednesday and Thursday bin collections. The rescheduled dates are as follows:

• Wednesday, December 25 – the collection will be on Saturday, December 21
• Thursday, December 26 – the collection will be on Saturday, December 28
• Wednesday, January 1 – the collection will be on Saturday, January 4.

Also, the council has confirmed there will be no green bin collections between Monday, January 20 and Friday, January 31. The green bin collection is a paid for service.

A new service, which will be free, that is set to come into force in 2025 is a new household waste the collection. The borough council, like local authorities up and down the country, has to introduce a food waste collection.

The council has yet to publicly reveal its plans for this but it has to bring in a free food waste collection by April next year.
