The NFL combine event is scheduled for this weekend, offering a broad array of draft-eligible players the opportunity to enhance their draft prospects and leave a positive impression on all NFL organizations. Prior to the event’s commencement, Mel Kiper unveiled a first-round mock draft to shed light on the current standing of some of the top players in the draft.

Three former Bulldogs were featured in the mock draft, with one of them poised to be selected within the top 10 picks. This appears to be the consensus among most draft analysts regarding the prospects from Georgia who might hear their names called on the first day of the draft. However, if the Bulldogs perform at the combine as they have in previous years, this number could potentially rise.

According to Kiper’s mock draft, Brock Bowers was the first Bulldog selected, landing at the tenth spot and heading to the New York Jets. Kiper observed that while Bowers possesses the talent worthy of a top-10 selection, the high demand for quarterbacks and depth at other positions in this draft might influence his placement. Bowers expressed a preference for joining the Tennessee Titans, although the Jets could also be a viable option, especially with the expected return of Aaron Rodgers, offering an enticing prospect of pairing up with one of the all-time greats.

Following Bowers, Amarius Mims was projected to be picked 24th overall by the Dallas Cowboys. Analysts often cite Mims’ limited starts during his collegiate career as a factor keeping him out of the top 15. Despite only eight starts at Georgia, Mims’ potential and ceiling are viewed as first-round caliber attributes. A notable performance at the combine could certainly elevate Mims’ position group rankings, a likely scenario given his potential.

The mock draft for the Bulldogs concluded with Kamari Lassiter being selected 30th overall by the Baltimore Ravens. Lassiter’s tenure as a starter at Georgia showcased his disciplined play and prowess as a lockdown defender. Kiper expressed curiosity regarding Lassiter’s performance in the 40-yard dash at the upcoming combine. Nevertheless, based on his on-field performance during his time in Athens, Lassiter appears to warrant a first-round selection.
