Ipswich town
A little devastated, an Ipswich Town player admits to his transfer amid a difficult game.
Lewis Travis, an Ipswich Town loan player, said he feels “a bit gutted” about not joining sooner because he thinks it would have helped him get more playing time.
Travis, a midfielder, was acquired by Ipswich Town during the January transfer window. In a development that shocked many, he witnessed a deal approved by Blackburn Rovers that appeared to be a strong addition for Kieran McKenna.
Loanee Lewis Travis from Ipswich Town expressed his regret at not coming sooner, saying he felt “a bit gutted” about not being able to gain more playing time.
During the January transfer window, Ipswich Town acquired Travis, a midfield player. He saw a trade that was sanctioned by Blackburn Rovers that looked like a good acquisition for Kieran McKenna, which surprised a lot of people.
“I must admit that I’m a little disappointed not to have spent the entire season here. I believe that if I had spent the preseason here, I would have had a genuine opportunity to establish myself as a team mainstay.
Halfway through the season, this team has already established itself and is performing incredibly well. Joining this squad is not an easy task!”
Travis continued by emphasizing that, despite his obvious wish to have played more for Ipswich Town, his only concern is supporting the club whenever possible and being ready to join McKenna at any time.
A difficult situation
Being an Ipswich Town backup midfielder is not an easy job. Morsy and Luongo were key players in the League One comeback, and this season they have easily stepped up thanks to their Championship football experience and pedigree.
Making the team is difficult because of McKenna’s team’s performance and the value of the midfield tandem. Travis, who joined from Blackburn Rovers, would have wanted to accomplish that, but even someone with his background hasn’t been successful in doing so.
Only time will tell what the summer has in store for him. Given his little playing time, a long-term stay at Portman Road may seem doubtful, but the club captain may find a spot in the starting lineup under new manager John Eustace at his parent club.
