Investigation update following death of man in Dorchester
At 9:05 p.m. on Saturday, Dorset Police received a complaint regarding an assault at a Milford Road house. After suffering severe brain injuries, a man in his 60s was admitted to the hospital for medical attention.
Detectives from the Major Crime inquiry Team (MCIT) of the Force conducted an inquiry into the incident after the guy tragically passed away on Saturday morning.
The man’s death is no longer being investigated as suspicious after thorough investigation and a post-mortem study revealed that he tragically passed away from natural causes. There was insufficient evidence to draw a connection between the man’s death on Saturday and the event that occurred the day before.
Two men, aged 18 and 20, arrested on suspicion of murder and conspiring to pervert the course of justice, and a 44-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of conspiring to pervert the course of justice and assisting an offender have now been released without charge and will face no further police action in relation to the incident.
Our thoughts continue to remain with the loved ones of the man who sadly died.
