Drivers faced delays as rush hour approached this afternoon

Motorists faced delays this afternoon, Tuesday, September 3 on the A38 near Sutton-in-Ashfield as rush hour approached. The incident, near the junction of Kingsmill Road and Alfreton Road near Fulwood, led to an ambulance being sent out.

A traffic accident caused hold-ups and diversions in the north of Nottinghamshire, close to the Derbyshire border and the town of Alfreton. Pictures from CCTV cameras in the area showed numerous ambulance and police workers around the scene.

Pictures sent to Nottinghamshire Live appeared to show a collision between two cars which had caused the delays. Buses were diverted in the wake of the incident but have since returned to normal routes.
