After being replaced by manager Luis Enrique in the second half, Kylian Mbappe of PSG chose to forego his own team’s bench.
On Friday night, Mbappe made his Parisian debut against Monaco. However, because the score was tied at the half, Enrique decided to substitute Randal Kolo Muani for Mbappe at halftime. After being substituted, it is customary for a player to sit with their teammates on the bench; nevertheless, the forward chose to defy this unwritten norm.
Instead, as his team struggled to a draw in the principality, the winger made the decision to go up into the stands and sit with his mother and other members of his entourage. Last week, when Mbappe was replaced with Rennes ahead against PSG, his supporters jeered him.
